Imam Al-Hasan Al-Basri said of hypocrisy: “No one fears it but a believer, and no one feels safe from it but a hypocrite.”
Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib said, “Give good advice to everyone who seeks your counsel and do not seek the counsel of anyone except the advice of one who is sincere and intelligent.”
We need to develop our relationship with God, our knowledge of ourselves, and let ourselves be guided by a fear that is deeply, deeply embedded in love.
O Allah, I beg of You the good which Your Prophet Muhammad, upon him peace and blessings, begged of You; and I seek refuge in You from the evil where from Your Prophet Muhammad, upon him peace and blessings, sought refuge. You are the One from Whom help is sought and Your is the responsibility to communicate (the truth). There is no power or strength except with Allah the Exalted, the Great.
We love justice selfishly and dishonestly. We do not see the harm and suffering we create in the lives of others, but we want people to accept the personal investigation of ourselves, group, favorite teacher, or friend. Of course, they are innocent. If we call others before independent investigation, where witnesses are examined and evidence is verified-why do we struggle facing independent investigation and ask those we love to do so as well?
