 Engage Minnesota Comment Policy

Engage Minnesota is an opinion site, created to give Minnesota Muslims a voice and to allow space for Muslims and non-Muslims to engage in constructive dialogue.

While I welcome and encourage a politically diverse audience, I also understand that some comments suppress rather than stimulate discussion.

In order to keep this site accessible and welcoming, we ask that the following guidelines be followed:

  1. Keep your comments on topic. I am happy to have a discussion of any of our essays, reviews, opinion columns, or stories. I ask only that the discussion stay on the topic of the post. Posts that are off-topic will not be accepted.
  2. Keep discussions respectful. Different viewpoints and opinions are welcome, but hate speech is not. Hate speech is speech intended to degrade, intimidate, or incite violence or prejudicial action against a person or group of people based on their race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or sexual orientation.
  3. Don’t spam the comment threads. Spam is any repeated comment, including but not limited to commercial spam.
