“Verily, God loves those who turn to Him.”
Quran 2:222
This video discusses an important understanding of the Adam and Eve story.
While reviewing this video, I want to share the name of God, Al-‘Aziz | Knowing Allah by Professor Mohammad Ratib En-Nabulsi.
Allah states: ”Innallaha yuhibbu Tawwabeen…”
Tawba (repentance) comes from the word taaba, which literally means to turn; this indicates that humanity turned away from God in search of something. There are many reasons, but this book is focused on people who turn away from God in search of love. In doing so, we disobey the commands of God. This does not make us fallen creatures; instead, we must turn to our Lord for His guidance on how to fulfill our needs.
The door of return, turning, or repentance is open. God accepted Adam and Eve’s turn and return. In this video, I share the hadith that I found in the link above, which helps us understand the relationship between our Creator and us. Allah, Most Gracious, in a Divine Hadith, says:
“O son of Adam! Seek Me, for if you find Me, you find everything, but if you miss Me, you miss everything, and I am more beloved to you than everything.”
Some say temptation is so strong that we cannot resist or turn away. Islam argues that God is Most Beautiful, Al Aziz, that if you turn to Him, you can.
The Prophets’ lives, including Mary, mother of Jesus, modeled for us how We are on earth to know God and worship Him. We cannot know Him unless we understand our humanness, which is bound by error, and our needs, because we are weak, not fallen.
We also learn that God is incredibly loving and merciful. God is not uncaring or weak; rather, God desires that we turn to Him for our needs and follow His commands. If we make a mistake, He wants us to return to Him and repent.
I began will continue reflective discussions about the book’s chapters on YouTube. Please subscribe to my channel and share the content with other book lovers. Your support and feedback help me improve my work, so feel free to share your thoughts on any topic of interest. The book is available in various online bookstores, or you can always request it from your local library.
