The video addresses the following sections:

  • 1. The Importance of Resolve in Our Life Journey
  • 2. Rejection in Art
  • 3. Manipulation vs. Persuasion
  • 4. Listening vs. Distractions
  • 5. Corrupter vs. Reformer
  • 6. Ignorant Corrupter vs. Arrogant Corrupter
  • 7. How Does Faith Respond to Corruption

The chapter references the supplication by Prophet Jonah and his response in that moment of darkness.

“… he cried through the depths of darkness (saying): “There is no God but You, Glorified be You! Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers.”

(Quran 21:87)

And in another chapter of the Quran:

“Then the fish swallowed him, while he was blameworthy. And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, He would have remained inside its belly until the Day they are resurrected. But We threw him onto the open shore while he was ill. And We caused to grow over him a gourd vine. And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time.”

(Quran 37:142-148)

And regarding holding people accountable to their own law:

(The Egyptians) said: "What then shall be the penalty of this, if ye are (proved) to have lied?" They said: "The penalty should be that he in whose saddle-bag it is found, should be held (as bondman) to atone for the (crime). Thus it is we punish the wrong-doers!"
(Qur'an 74-75)

You might want to read a few scholarly commentaries on the verses above in context of the discussion in this video. This is not a scholarly video for making religious edicts but to help one connect to the Quran and begin a journey to study Islam holistically.
