Hi Randi,

I give presentations to social workers and found your book very helpful. Also, I found people struggling to forgive loved ones with BPD, after reading your book - were able to reach the point of forgiveness.

I thought the discussion on projection with Benham was good.
http://www.bpdcentral.com/resources/basics/games.shtml

It goes in line with the teachings of Habib Ali Al Jifri on being a Prophetic Mirror, and looking inwards to solve our problems and not just external to ourselves. At times the enemy out there is just a reflection of our inward state.

(It is translated in English)
http://www.guidancemedia.com/videostream.php?id=Mawlid Clip.mov

Regarding your friend - you may want to try
http://www.issaservices.com/ or http://www.issausa.org

They have alot of information on Muslims with identity problems or cultural clash issues and can help you with your Muslim friend.

Another resource is to refer your friend to the cybercounselor or parenting counselor on islamonline.net

Thanks for stopping by.

Well, on a whim, I put a Google alert on my name and hit paydirt the first week out!

I'm glad you enjoyed my book, but sorry you might be in a position to need it. Elyce M. Benham (whom I quoted) was very helpful in explaining borderline personality disorder to me.

FWIW, I have a good friend who is a Muslim. She is struggling like hell with her grown children right now; part of it is the culture clash between how she was raised and how her children were raised in the USA. I'll have to come back here when I have more time.

Warmly,

Sr. Fedwa Wazwaz has truly portrayed the current state of affairs of the Press when dealing with Muslims and the non Muslims. Constantly demonizing Muslims through false or exaggerated claims makes a common man insensitive towards Muslims rights as equal and honorable citizen and gives free hand to the those who dislike Islam and Muslims to carry out 'any atrocity' against them, as if they are justified to do so, with no one asking a question. This was perhaps the way of the Nazi's against innocent Jews in WWII also.
